Young researchers from around the world are called upon to enter their sustainability research for the “Green Talents” award by 22 May of this year.

Wanted: smart minds from around the world. Once again this year, the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) will be honouring outstanding young talent and their research on sustainability in the international Green Talents competition. The competition under the patronage of Federal Research Minister Anja Karliczek enjoys increasing international attention. The BMBF has invited 25 award winners to Germany each year since 2009 for a two-week Science Forum on sustainability research. In all, 232 young men and women from 65 different countries have been honoured in this way so far.

Exceptional green talents from all disciplines and all countries are invited to submit their applications by no later than 14:00 (CEST) on 22 May.

The 25 successful Green Talents will be chosen by a jury and granted exclusive access to Germany’s research elite. This year, the successful Green Talents will get to know the research and innovation landscape in eastern Germany. They will then have the opportunity next year to spend three months conducting research in a German research institution, company or university of their choice. The aim of the competition is to create lasting contacts between German institutions and the best young international researchers, to attract excellent researchers to our country and to further raise the profile of Germany’s scientific landscape abroad.
